The Arc of Northern Virginia

Saying goodbye to Interns doesn’t ever get easier

We have had four Interns this 2009 year and there names were Tim, Karen, Brooke and Angie. George said that we will always remain connected with the interns wherever they go. I personally think that the four interns have a gained a lot of experience to take with them wherever they go in the community.  Interns come to the Arc to learn about working people with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities. Sometimes they don’t have any experience working with an individual with IDD… Most of are interns share they learned a lot and enjoyed the atmosphere of the Arc Of Northern VA. What is amazing about interns is that while they are learning they or also teaching the rest of the staff a great deal as well. We believe that learning is a life long process at the Arc of Northern VA. It is important to be opened welcoming and able to say so long when it that time.

Does it ever get easier to say goodbye to the Interns when they leave? (No)

We just quit saying goodbye and instead say see you around.

The reality is once you are a part of the Arc you never ever leave the Arc.

I like that saying “We just quit saying goodbye and instead say see you around!”

What lucky interns to have spent time in your office!

Hey beautiful! I am not going anywhere! Always remember that in life that “goodbye” doesn’t always need to be used, for the most part it’s always “see you later”. And I will see you alter…at dinner! Keep up the good work!
