Jack and Jill Speak for services for Non Waiver Eligible Advocates

Jack: I am Jack Egle’, I am proud to share that I am Jill Egle’s brother and one of her biggest fans. I am here to support Jill and Delegate Shannon’s request for $5 Million dollars to support 1000 people with Intellectual and developmental disabilites who are not eligible for Medicaid Waiver Services.
You may wonder “What kind of supports does a person need who is not eligible for Medicaid Waiver Services?” As a brother–this is not something I think about everyday, because it is the stuff families do naturally…when Jill has a question she can pick up the phone and call me; when Jill needs a ride she can catch one with me; when Jill wants something to do on the weekend she can come along with my wife Elizabeth, myself and our dog Jazz.–now that she is working she often “picks up the tab!” This works well, but sometimes my big sister would like to have “A life like YOURs and Mine” and do things without her little brother tagging along. That is why I ask you to make the investment in my sister Jill and many Virginians much like her.
Jill: I have spoken in front of many of you before, usually about myself and those who have similar needs. Today I want to share how proud I am to show off my brother Jack, or as I like to call him “Cod”. Even though he is eighteenEt months younger than me–he has always been there for me and belived in me. Cod and my youngest brother Ryan have taught me the importance of trusting others in helping me be as strong as I can be…As a result I have formed wonderful relationships with others who have impacted my life and allowed me to live “A Life Like Yours”–please invest in others like myself, who may not be eligible for Medicaid Waiver Services–but who can be a leader if they are given support to work, laugh, love and contirbute back to the community.
