The Fairfax-Falls Church CSB was established in 1969 and is governed by a sixteen-member citizen Board that is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and the City Councils. In addition to serving as the admitting and discharge planning agency for State facilities in this area, the CSB is the primary provider - either directly or through contracts - of all publicly funded outpatient, residential, day and employment services for persons with mental illness, mental retardation or drug and alcohol addiction. The following section addresses Fairfax-Falls Church CSB programs and services for these classes of disabilities.
