Services of The Arc of Northern Virginia that Fill Gaps in the Current Systems

The Arc of Northern Virginia has been, and continues to be, a leader in Virginia for services and advocacy for families and individuals with disabilities. Following are the direct services that The Arc of Northern Virignia offers to families and individuals with disabilities:

Special Needs Pooled Trust

The Arc of Northern Virginia has been and continues to be a leader in Virginia for services and advocacy for individuals and families with disabilities. From our direct services and information and referral services, we have first hand knowledge of the needs of the community. Therefore we are able to advocate at local, state and federal levels to push for changes that would better the lives for the community. Therefore, when planning for the future, choose The Arc of Northern Virginia, a non-profit organization that specializes in serving individuals and families with disabilities.

The DD Waiver Service Program

The Arc of Northern Virginia is a case management and service facilitation service provider for individuals who are eligible for the Individual and Family Developmental Disabilities Support Waiver (a.k.a. the DD Waiver). The DD Waiver was established in 2000 and is designed to provide home and community based services for individuals with developmental disabilities who do not have mental retardation.

Individual and Family Advocacy Services

The Arc of Northern Virginia offers individuals with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families individual advocacy services across several issue areas. The goal of these services is to to enhance each individual and/or family's ability to be more self-reliant in maximizing their potential for growth and development.
